So I've decided that this baby is keeping me on my toes. I'll go for a day or two with plenty of energy and little to no nausea, then I'll have a day like yesterday when I can barely keep my eyes open, and I'm sick off and on all day. Since this pregnancy is so different than the last two, I'm thinking it's a girl. At least, that's my working theory...
We were nearly finished with shopping at Walmart yesterday, and I was despondently waddling behind my husband, feeling sick and super fat, when the power suddenly went out! Despite my assurances to Hubby that I'm sure they still had a way to check folks out, he decided to wander around for another 20 more minutes, waiting to see if the power would come back on, so we could leave.
"I'm sure they can check us out."
"No, the registers are down."
Finally - when my poor tummy (and the boys) had had enough, I said, "Why don't we just go see if there's anyone in line."
And, of course, all registers are on battery backup. Of course they are. It's Walmart!
GAH!!!
Anyway, enough whining! I'm feeling pretty good today, and I think I only woke up twice to pee last night. I was just too tired to wake up with it, I guess. We had a rough night Saturday night between my bladder and both boys waking up.
So, I have good days and less than good ones. I won't say any are "bad," though, because so long as this baby is healthy, and I'm not puking up my toenails, it counts as some kind of "good" in my book!

One Day At A Time
So today I've decided that this pregnancy is harder than the last two. Much harder. I guess it's partly because I have the first two little hoodlums to keep up with. And I'm older. And I'm already tired to start with. And I have longer work days. And....I'm older. LOL! And overweight and out of shape, let's face that, too.
I have about 2 good hours during the day, usually after naps, when I have some energy and feel like getting something done. The rest of the time is spent just surviving and/or eagerly awaiting naptime. I am just so drained. I actually fed the boys pizza rolls and grapes for breakfast this morning. I just didn't have the energy to do anything else. And we're having pizza and popcorn for dinner because my hubby isn't home to cook... Mother of the Year - that's me.
Generally speaking, I should have about another month of feeling lousy, then I should enjoy a good couple months of "bloom." I'm looking forward to that. I'm really not complaining. It's not like I haven't done this before, and I'm glad I'm healthy enough to do it now. But it's true that mothers forget about the bad stuff once the children are born. The nausea, the fatigue, the peeing, the backaches, the mysterious ache in my neck that has suddenly appeared and become annoying, the pain of childbirth - I know it will all be worth it when I have HER in my arms. So I'm just going to take it easy while I can. Thankfully, I don't have a stressful work schedule, so I don't have to kill myself spending all weekend doing household chores. I do the ones I feel like doing, and I make Daughter do the rest - LOL!

Real, Live Baby!
Well, it's official! We're having a real, live baby! The ultrasound looked good. The heartbeat looked good. It'll be awhile before we can tell the sex, but my Dad says it's a girl because he's already put in his order! My original due date of Jan 27th still holds, although the midwife said that with my history, I could go anytime after Christmas. Personally, I'm betting on a new year's baby. Although it would be neat to see what it's like to actually go into labor for once, rather than early water breaking and being induced.
Anyway, I'm getting tired, so I'm about to put these two hooligans down for a nap!

Today's the Day!
Well, today's the day! I've been waiting a month for our first doctor appointment, and we'll be on our way in less than an hour. I am hoping and praying that everything looks healthy, and I should have an accurate estimated due date by the time we're done. I'm picking Hubby up from work (he's taking an early lunch), and we'll go see our little bean. I will certainly update when we get back!

All's Quiet
Not much happening on the baby front right now other than some random, intermittent nausea. My first OB appointment is a week from today at 11:00. I am looking forward to (hopefully) seeing that everything is OK and hearing a heartbeat. We survived our vacation last week very well, other than the constant overnight peeing, which just makes me exhausted. But that would've been true anywhere.
I will update y'all after my doctor appointment next week!

The Tired
One thing I do not enjoy about pregnancy is The Tired. And it is definitely Capital Letter worthy. Waking up so many times at night to use the potty causes me to feel dragged out and worn out upon getting out of bed, which makes it difficult to find the motivation to handle stuff that needs to be done. Such as getting Little Man to his soccer camp by 9:00 or taking the kids to the dentist at 10:30. We haven't quite gotten to the days where we can just tell everyone to get in the car and buckle up. Even short road trips require going potty first, find your shoes, no - you can't take 12 toys along, do you want a snack, and where did you put your cup - I just gave it to you.
BUT, the good news is, I usually start to feel better by mid morning, and I'm counting on doing so today, too. I honestly don't know how I did this working 5 days a week, although, I guess back then, I didn't have 3 kids, either. Just the one, and she could wipe her own butt.
Anyway, I'm not complaining. Just venting. Other than The Tired, I'm feeling OK this morning, and I'm thankful for that.
